Fast Food Chains with Secret Menus Around the World

We all have our vices, and for many people in first-world countries, they include fast food restaurants and all the delicious foods they serve. There’s something comforting about the foods we all know and love, served at places like McDonald’s, Starbucks, Subway, Burger King, and all sorts of other chains. Most people enjoy the occasional indulgence from such places, but they’re usually not the first place you head to when going on vacation in a foreign place. Most of the time, travelers avoid chain restaurants at all costs, since everything on the menu is exactly the same at home. They opt instead for local restaurants and unique places to eat. However, most people aren’t aware that fast food chains have different menus in different countries. The variations are small, but some of the international menu items are definitely worth a try.

Burger King’s Chili Cheese Bites

Nearly everywhere in Europe, Burger King serves a delicious item called chili cheese nuggets. They’re made of a crunchy shell similar to the outside of chicken nuggets and filled with melted cheese and a little bit of spice. In fact, this menu item is served almost everywhere in the world except for North America.

KFC’s Chizza

Imagine a pizza, but instead of dough- it’s made out of chicken. That’s exactly what KFC has created in a limited number of countries. In Hong Kong, Singapore, and the Philippines, customers can order the Chizza. It’s just how it sounds, a large piece of chicken covered with melted cheese and all sorts of other toppings.

McDonald’s Nutella Burger

Nutella has made its way into almost every fast food restaurant recently. However, it’s only at McDonald’s Italy that customers are able to order the Nutella Burger. It’s exactly what it sounds like- the classic McDonalds burger bun, except no beef patties on the inside. Just a nice big serving of Nutella. It’s the perfect dessert to enjoy after having a cheap meal at an Italian McDonalds.

McDonald’s Macarons

European McDonalds’ have a couple of other interesting things to offer. For example, in Spain and France, customers are able to order the famous macaron cookies. Many European McDonalds locations offer beer as a drink option. Plus, pescatarians have it easier at McDonald’s in Europe, since some locations offer an alternative to Chicken Nuggets called Fish McBites, essentially the same thing, but made out of fish. And, it’s only at McDonald’s locations in Hong Kong that customers are able to order soft serve ice cream that is matcha flavored.

Pizza Hut’s Dorito Pizza

Ever since Taco Bell started using Doritos as taco shells, the chips have been welcome in many fast food restaurants. Unfortunately, a delicious Pizza Hut menu item called the Doritos Pizza is only available in Pakistan. The pizza is made with a thick Dorito crust, and chips crushed up all over the top of the melted cheese.

Dunkin’ Donuts Pork and Seaweed Donut

Leave it to Dunkin’ Donuts locations in China to serve one of the strangest donut flavors ever- pork and seaweed. Although it doesn’t sound like the most appetizing type of pastry dessert, adventurous eaters may not be able to stay away from it.

To conclude, adventurous eaters and fans of these chains are never disappointed with the interesting international menu variations. Fast food is an easy option for many people since it’s cheap and it’s always around. No matter where you are in the world, there is always a couple of fast food options to try out. Why not throw a couple of fast food stops in the mix while you’re on the road?
